Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a dedicated janitorial associate to perform a variety of cleaning tasks across assigned buildings. You will conduct high dusting, sanitizing, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and grounds maintenance, ensuring sanitary and orderly conditions throughout daily operations.

The role requires following safety practices, operating janitorial equipment, and maintaining a courteous, service-oriented approach with customers and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• High Dusting: clean surfaces above shoulder height around room with a treated high duster.
• Sanitizing/Spot Cleaning: sanitize surfaces below shoulder height, remove fingerprints and smudges; spot clean windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: clean sinks, toilets, refill dispensers with germicidal solution.
• Empty Trash Cans: remove liners and replace with clean liners.
• Floor Dusting or Vacuuming: dust mop, vacuum, and reach under furniture.
• Grounds care: outdoor areas cleaned several times daily, police sidewalks and parking lot cleanup.
• Public Common Areas: dust mop, spot mop main hallways, check glass and planters.
• Food Court: clean tables, remove spills, empty trash, wash trays.
• Floor Sanitizing: sanitize floors, reach under furniture.
• Your Inspection: review steps and ensure proper furniture placement.
• Customer Relations and Service: be courteous and quiet, answer questions or refer to supervisor.
