To support independent healthcare providers, the full-time remote Profee Coder will be responsible for coding and abstracting diagnoses and charges from medical records to ensure optimal reimbursement and quality reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for various specialty service accounts and abstract key data elements for billing and regulatory purposes
• Review medical records for documentation accuracy and communicate with providers to clarify details for proper coding
• Resolve claim edits related to emergency department encounters and assist with coding errors for outpatient visits as needed

Required qualifications:

• Credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CEDC, COC, CPC, CCS-P, or CCS
• Three or more years of coding experience
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems and federal/state reimbursement regulations
• Experience working in a remote environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
