Job description

1st Shift, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. + OT as needed

Position Summary

The Production & Warehouse Supervisor leads daily operations across two connected areas: the production floor (automated bagging, palletizing, and boxing of washers, and vision inspection) and warehouse distribution (order picking and fulfillment). This role owns the daily huddle, tracks and drives KPIs, and builds a trained, cross‑capable team. The Supervisor is a hands‑on leader who steps into any station when needed and is expected to actively strengthen and standardize processes as the facility grows — not just maintain the status quo.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Lead the daily production huddle: review prior‑day results, safety topics, staffing, and priorities for the shift.
  • Coordinate daily production and warehouse activities to meet internal goals and customer commitments.
  • Use production and order schedules to plan workflow, assign priorities, and staff both the production line and warehouse to hit deadlines.
  • Supervise production and warehouse personnel, providing direction, coaching, and real‑time support on the floor.
  • Perform the same duties as supervised employees when needed — including running equipment, packing, or picking orders — to cover gaps and keep work moving.
  • Own daily and weekly KPI tracking for both production and warehouse; post results and review them with the team at huddle.
  • Identify root causes of missed targets (downtime, quality holds, mis‑picks, late shipments) and drive corrective actions.
  • Monitor and improve line efficiency, changeover time, first‑pass yield, and warehouse throughput.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements to production flow, line balance, and warehouse layout as the facility scales.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate production, quality, and warehouse reports for leadership.
Training & Development
  • Train new and existing employees on production equipment, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Cross‑train staff across production and warehouse functions to build a flexible, multi‑skilled workforce.
  • Coach team members on performance, document skill progress, and identify candidates for lead or advancement roles.
  • Ensure new hires complete onboarding and job‑specific training before working independently.
Production Operations
  • Monitor automated bagging, palletizing, and boxing equipment for washers; troubleshoot minor issues and escape equipment failures.
  • Oversee vision inspection systems and quality checkpoints; ensure defects are caught, documented, and addressed before shipment.
  • Promote adherence to company policies, safety procedures, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production staff to identify and resolve operational problems.
Warehouse & Distribution
  • Supervise order picking, packing, and fulfillment to ensure orders ship complete, accurate, and on time.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, staging, and warehouse organization to support efficient picking and put‑away.
  • Partner with logistics/shipping to prioritize outbound orders and resolve fulfillment issues.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed.
Safety
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures across production and warehouse areas; lead by example on PPE and safe equipment use.
  • Investigate near‑misses and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse/distribution environment.
  • Experience with automated production equipment (bagging, palletizing, boxing) and vision inspection systems preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse operations — order picking, fulfillment, inventory management — preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing tools, equipment, raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Ability to read and use KPI/production reports to drive daily decisions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to run an effective daily huddle.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a strong, hands‑on work ethic.
  • Ability to create, follow, and enforce standardized production and warehouse processes.
  • Relevant training or certification in industrial production, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
