Job summary

Chase Doors seeks a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Frederick, MD facility. You will lead a manufacturing team, ensure safety, quality, and on-time production, and drive continuous improvement through coaching and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all employees and production activities in the assigned area.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and promote safety culture.
  • Maintain knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and quality requirements.
  • Meet production goals while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Coach and provide feedback; conduct performance reviews and corrective actions.
  • Complete daily production reports and ensure data accuracy and reporting.
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance, engineering, and planning to ensure flow of work.
  • Provide on-the-job and cross-training to build skill depth and bench strength.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure production paperwork aligns with customer requirements and audits.
  • Promote housekeeping and a safe, organized work environment.
  • Maintain visibility and communication on the production floor; support cross-line needs.
  • Work onsite daily and adapt to shifting demands as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations and personnel within the Production department. This role ensures that all safety, quality, and operational standards are upheld and that production goals are consistently met. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, able to lead by example, and committed to fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional teamwork.

The Supervisor will play a key role in training, performance feedback, and process improvement while maintaining a strong floor presence and actively engaging with team members to resolve issues, remove obstacles, and support a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct all employees and production activities within assigned area.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures; promote a safety-first culture by modeling safe behaviors and holding team members accountable to safety expectations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure established production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance; provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Complete daily production reports and ensure operational data is accurately recorded and communicated.
  • Partner with internal teams (quality, maintenance, engineering, planning) to ensure smooth flow of work, material availability, and issue resolution.
  • Provide on-the-job training and cross-training to build skill depth and bench strength within the team.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate bottlenecks or inefficiencies; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure production paperwork is accurate and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Participate in quality audits and lead corrective action efforts when deviations are identified.
  • Promote housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
  • Support compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Serve as a leader and resource on the floor by maintaining visibility, approachability, and consistent communication.
  • Maintain flexibility to support production needs across multiple lines or shifts as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Safety Requirements
  • Comply with all OSHA, and company safety policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
  • Attend scheduled safety training.
  • Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed safety goals and plans.
  • Recommend improved safety practices.
  • Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, operations, or technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, safety standards, and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable to performance and safety expectations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP or production tracking systems a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and reporting.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and achieving department goals.
  • Ability to interpret production metrics and drive performance through clear goals and performance feedback.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with HRIS/payroll systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be able to work onsite daily

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Regular use of a computer and standard office equipment is required
  • The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks over a 10–12-hour period.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds
