Job Title: Production Test Operator
Job Description

This role involves fabricating wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies from technical documentation, carrying out production and acceptance testing, and supporting system-level integration activities. You will use a range of RF and digital test equipment to evaluate product performance, troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies, and ensure all work complies with quality and process standards while meeting production schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies using drawings, wire run lists, operation sheets, and other technical documentation.

  • Support assembly and manufacturing activities by building, assembling, and configuring electronic and electromechanical products as required.

  • Perform production, acceptance, and system-level testing on electronic assemblies and systems to verify performance against specifications.

  • Use RF and digital test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, frequency counters, analysers, and related instruments, to evaluate and characterise product performance.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies at component level, including boards and related hardware, to resolve faults and restore functionality.

  • Support system integration efforts by assisting with setup, verification, and validation of complete systems to meet customer requirements.

  • Maintain strict compliance with quality procedures, ESD controls, calibration requirements, material handling rules, safety guidelines, and manufacturing processes.

  • Meet production schedules and efficiency goals by planning and prioritising work effectively and maintaining accurate records of activities.

  • Identify, document, and communicate quality or performance issues, ensuring products meet workmanship standards and customer specifications.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on test procedures, assembly processes, and quality controls.

Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting, including hands-on work with electronic assemblies and systems.

  • At least 5 years of experience in wire harness fabrication and electromechanical assembly, working from technical drawings and documentation.

  • At least 5 years of experience in RF testing and process compliance, including adherence to quality, ESD, calibration, safety, and manufacturing procedures.

  • Proficiency in RF testing, including the use of RF and digital test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, frequency counters, and analysers.

  • Strong component-level troubleshooting skills, including fault-finding and repair of electronic boards and assemblies.

  • Ability to interpret and work from drawings, wire run lists, operation sheets, and technical documentation.

  • Solid understanding of quality standards and workmanship requirements for electronic and electromechanical products.

  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for boards and electronic assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in identifying, documenting, and communicating quality or performance issues in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with ESD-safe working practices and controlled environments.

  • Experience working in small production teams or low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.

  • Comfort using a variety of RF and digital measurement instruments for test and verification.

  • Ability to support system integration activities and collaborate with engineering and production teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to assembly, test, and documentation.

Work Environment

You will work in a small, well-lit, clean, and organized shop alongside a team of approximately six assemblers. The role follows a structured schedule of 6:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday, and 6:30 am to 10:30 am on Fridays. The environment is focused on precision electronic and electromechanical assembly and testing, using RF and digital test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, frequency counters, and analysers. Work is carried out in a controlled setting with emphasis on ESD protection, proper material handling, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

This is a Permanent position based out of Victor, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
