Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process instructions, schematics, mechanical drawings, pictures, and diagrams to assemble complex assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical parts and units using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
  • Position, align, fasten, and adjust components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment according to specifications.
  • Connect cables, tubing, and wiring in accordance with technical specifications and work instructions.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to verify that specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Measure parts and assemblies using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and verniers to confirm dimensional accuracy.
  • Operate assembly equipment, robotics, and fixed automation equipment to support production activities.
  • Operate small crane systems to safely move components and assemblies as needed.
  • Conduct product testing and inspections to identify defects, nonconformances, or performance issues.
  • Monitor gauges, indicators, and other instrumentation to ensure equipment and assemblies operate within specified parameters.
  • Troubleshoot operating issues, including mechanical and fit/tolerance problems, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic equipment repairs to keep tools, machinery, and assembly equipment in proper working condition.
  • Disassemble units to replace parts, correct issues, or prepare equipment for shipment.
  • Move between multiple assembly stations and learn different aspects of the assembly process to support production flexibility.
Essential Skills
  • Proven hands‑on assembly experience with complex assemblies and subassemblies, not limited to repetitive assembly line or machine operation work.
  • Mechanical assembly and electromechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and detailed work instructions.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, with a clear understanding of which tools to use for different assembly tasks.

  • Ability to explain how calipers and other precision tools are used to troubleshoot fit and tolerance issues.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues with assemblies, alignment, and operation.
  • Comfort operating assembly equipment, robotics, and fixed automation equipment.
  • Ability to operate small crane systems safely to move components and assemblies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing terminology, including countersinks, tolerances, alignment, and related concepts.
  • Capability to conduct product testing and inspections and interpret results to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Ability to monitor gauges and indicators and respond appropriately to abnormal readings or conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to move between multiple assembly stations and quickly learn new processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working on complex, non‑repetitive assemblies in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting tight dimensional and functional tolerances.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on assembly equipment and tools.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different assembly tasks, processes, and equipment as production needs change.
  • Effective communication skills to discuss technical issues, explain troubleshooting steps, and follow detailed instructions.
