Aerotek is seeking a Wire Harness Assembler in Centennial, CO to build aerospace and defense harnesses following IPC-620 standards. The role involves soldering, crimping, labeling, and assembling via boards with strict documentation and safety requirements.

Work requires standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and maintaining a clean, organized production area. Contract-to-hire position with a Monday–Friday schedule and value-driven team environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation by signing travelers and completing production records.
  • Capacity to stand, sit, and walk for several hours in a production environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds as part of regular job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Verify traveler documentation for accuracy, including part numbers, revisions, quantities, and other required details.
  • Inspect materials for damage, defects, or nonconformities before use in assembly.
  • Prepare cable by cutting, de-jacketing, and stripping according to instructions.
  • Perform basic assembly tasks such as loading connectors, applying labels, and installing heat shrink tubing.
  • Assemble wire harnesses using boards and follow blueprints and work instructions.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, and other electromechanical assembly operations as required.
  • Operate stripping machines and use hand tools and mechanical tools safely.
  • Apply IPC-620/Mil-Spec workmanship standards and customer requirements.
  • Sign work order travelers after each process step to ensure production records.
  • Ensure materials and finished harnesses are properly identified and packaged.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety guidelines.
  • Report injuries or hazards promptly to support safety improvement.
  • Be punctual and adhere to the work schedule.

Job Title: Wire Harness Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on assembling wire harnesses for aerospace and defense applications using prepared materials such as wire, cable, sleeving, and related components. You follow IPC-620/Mil-Spec workmanship standards and customer requirements while performing manual assembly tasks including loading connectors, twisting wire and cable, installing labels and ty-wraps, potting, soldering, and assembly preparation. You operate stripping machines and various hand tools, complete documentation accurately, and support a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to five months of related experience and/or training in the electronics field.
  • Knowledge of IPC-620, IPC-610, and J-STD-001 standards; certification in these standards is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic assembly, cable assembly, and wire harness assembly in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical assembly and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for assembly work.Understanding of labeling requirements and material identification practices in manufacturing.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to all safety requirements and participate in safety improvement activities.

Work Environment

This position is based in a new manufacturing facility focused on aerospace and defense wire harness production. You work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in a structured production setting that emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety. The role involves standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. You use stripping machines, hand tools, and other mechanical tools to perform cable preparation, crimping, soldering, and assembly tasks. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centennial, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
