Job Summary

The Production Technician II will play a critical role in maintaining production efficiency by stepping into various roles when required due to illness, resignation, or other absences in leadership or more technical positions. This role requires flexibility and the ability to quickly transition between positions, ensuring minimal disruption to production. The technician will be cross-trained in multiple production processes and must be comfortable taking on additional responsibilities in both technical and leadership capacities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a backup for leadership or technically skilled roles during absences, ensuring continued workflow.
  2. Cross-train in multiple production areas, including automated machinery operation, quality assurance, and line supervision.
  3. Quickly assume the role of line supervisor, technician, or machine operator during absences to maintain operational flow.
  4. Meet and exceed daily production quotas while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to quality control standards. Participate in daily operational reviews to identify areas for improvement in efficiency.
  5. Manipulate cannabis flower and oil in production processes.
  6. Weigh, stuff, roll, and package products to company specifications.
  7. Label, sticker, and package finished goods for distribution.
  8. Ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and OSHA health and safety standards.
  9. Support team leads in overseeing production lines and addressing technical issues as needed.
  10. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members when acting in a supervisory role.
  11. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in routine safety audits. Maintain full compliance with OSHA standards and GMP.
Required Skills/Abilities
  1. Must be at least 21 years old, as required by state law.
  2. Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to adapt to different roles and responsibilities quickly.
  4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  5. Strong time management skills and attention to detail to meet production goals.
  6. Knowledge of various strains, styles, and types of cannabis and their production requirements.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate across departments.
  8. Ability to lead small production teams during supervisor absences, ensuring adherence to production schedules and safety standards.
  9. Ability to uphold high health and hygiene standards in compliance with OSHA and GMP.
Education And Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. 3+ years of experience in a high-volume production or manufacturing role.
  3. Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies is preferred.
  4. Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is required.
  5. Cross-functional training or experience in multiple production processes is preferred.
  6. Experience in manufacturing consumable goods is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate in a fast-paced, noisy production environment.
  3. Must be able to handle frequent walking, standing, and the use of manual tools for machine setup and adjustments.
  4. Must be able to work in varied environmental conditions, including noisy and fast-paced production areas. May require working in regulated cleanroom environments.
  5. Capable of repetitive hand and arm motions while working with cannabis.
  6. Willingness to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Schedule
  1. Monday - Friday, including occasional Saturdays (some mandatory, others volunteer based)
