Job description

Overview

Position Summary:

The Production Technician will support the Stamping business unit and be responsible for setting up, operating, and tearing down progressive and single stage presses and auxiliary equipment used in the manufacture of precision stamped components. Inspects product for conformance to quality standards and customer expectations. Monitors, troubleshoots, and makes adjustments to ensure quality requirements are maintained while meeting operational expectations. Works in a team environment and interacts with a wide range of departments during manufacturing operations.

This positions shift schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm with a 30-minute paid meal break.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate and tear down stamping presses and auxiliary equipment while maintaining a clean working environment
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the manufacturing process and output to diagnose and resolve anticipated or actual manufacturing issues that may affect product quality
  • Perform visual and measurement inspections and accurately documents the results
  • Adhere to and comply with quality, manufacturing and departmental work instructions, control plans and processes
  • Support and cooperate with colleagues including machine operators, tool room technicians, peers, support departments and New Product Introduction (NPI)

To support on-boarding, on-the job, video, classrom and 1 on 1 training will be provided.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience running machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to set up, run and monitor stamping presses or similar machinery
  • Ability to comprehend and follow documented work instructions, procedures and training documents, including the ability to document and recommend process improvements
  • Ability to utilize hand tools such as a micrometer, caliper, dial indicator and pin gauges
  • Ability to operate automated optical measurement systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Progressive stamping, metal forming, punch press, machining, or equivalent experience
  • Degree, diploma, or certification in a machining related course from a technical or trade school

Pay Range
USD $22.00 - USD $33.22 /Hr.
