Production Technician

Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution (LSD), part of Carpenter Technology Corporation, serves North America’s tooling customers with a broad range of products, extensive value-added services, and metallurgical expertise. With locations in the US and Canada, LSD inventories over 60 specialty alloys for demanding applications. Our capabilities include production sawing, CNC high-speed precision sawing, CNC lathe turning, milling, grinding, heat treating, and hollow boring.

Primary Duties

1. Receive instructions from supervisor or designated personnel.
2. Operate distribution center/warehouse tools and equipment following standard procedures.
3. Check dimensions of materials before, during, and after processing to ensure tolerances.
4. Count, weigh, and segregate pieces and scrap by grades; attach ID tags; verify and package orders according to customer specifications; transport materials using appropriate equipment; maintain production records.
5. Lubricate, clean, adjust, and perform minor repairs on equipment; maintain a clean work area; report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs; assist with equipment and facility maintenance.
6. Perform additional duties including general labor as directed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Experience with processing equipment such as saws, grinders, milling machines, lathes, forklifts, cranes, and hand tools (preferred).
• Ability to work efficiently under supervision.
• Basic math, measuring skills, and computer skills.
• Commitment to safety.
