Job Title: Production Team Member

Location: 320 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129

Pay: Starts at $22.07 an hour

Weekly Pay

Shift: 1st Shift: 5am/7 am - 3 pm, M-F, or 2nd Shift: 3 pm - 11 pm/1 am. 8 - 10 hour shifts. (Mostly hiring on 2nd Shift)

Overtime: Every other Saturday. Additional overtime as needed, could be daily and/or weekend overtime.

Our Production Team members will safely perform a wide range of tasks, conducting quality checks, material set-up, machine set up and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely, attendance, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex high powered machinery.

How you will impact WestRock

• We will train you to operate our converting machines to produce corrugated packaging. The world boxes!
• You will learn to perform routine maintenance on the machine & adjust the machine settings to achieve the desired dimensions and quality of the corrugated products
• Inspect the corrugated products for defects and take corrective actions as needed
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met safely with quality products
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
• Keep your work area clean and organized
• Assist with other tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading materials or operating other machinery & mentoring new team members

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience with high-speed, high-volume work
• Hablamos Español! Basic English is helpful
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment. Our facility is not climate controlled. You may work up to 12-hour shifts if OT is necessary.
• Attention to detail, able to read a tape measure & ability to identify product defects
• Desire to work in a team environment
• Willingness to work required OT including Saturdays

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience with high-speed, high-volume work. Manufacturing experience or similar experience is preferred
• Willingness and ability to operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific direction, operate powered equipment, and other duties as assigned
• Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, lift, reach and kneel for up to 12 hours a day and push or pull up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis. You must be able to stand for up to 12 hour shifts. Our plant gets very hot in the summer. We take safety seriously. Our substance abuse policy prohibits the use of recreational marijuana. You must pass a drug screen
• Ability to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on your position. We cannot guarantee shift availability
• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills

The pay rate for this position is $22.07 per hour. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, Employees accrue paid vacation/sick time at a rate of 3.34 hours per month. Accrued time becomes eligible for use upon completion of 1,500 hours of work, and 13 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
