Complexity of the Role
Team Leaders are expected to:
- Use logic & reason to make sound business decisions based on DSM policies, processes, and procedures

In this role you will:
- Accept personal responsibility for your safety and that of your colleagues.
- Provide performance evaluations for your direct reports.
- Carry out the production schedule to meet customer orders.
- Supervise all operators on your shift and ensure duties are completed.
- Enter data into SAP to complete batches.
- Support during emergency responses.
- Work within the collective bargaining agreement.
- Follow legal & corporate SHE requirements and work processes for SHE and housekeeping, aiming for no incidents and continuous SHE improvement.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment with continuous SHE awareness.
- Execute SHE audits as per the annual plan.
- Lead, organize, and supervise team quality, flexibility, and exchangeability to meet production targets.
- Participate in daily production meetings, report deviations and delays.
- Maintain key operating parameters within defined SOPs.
- Diagnose causes of KOP deviations.
- Ensure effective shift handovers and communicate relevant issues.
- Review and sign log sheets.
- Report unsafe situations or deviations to management.
- Support new product introductions.
- Contribute to process and environment improvements.
- Coordinate contractor activities ensuring SHE compliance.
- Train new operators effectively.
- Propose SOP and protocol changes.
- Report breakdowns with descriptions and preliminary diagnoses.
- Authorize and sign maintenance work permits, communicate activities.
- Be aware of risk classifications and MOC files.
- Authorize equipment overrides based on risk assessments.
- Manage HR systems, coach, and motivate staff to ensure a skilled, committed workforce.
What You Offer
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree with 6 years of experience, or Associates degree with 6 years of experience, or 11 years of experience with a High school diploma.
- Qualifications must be objective, relevant, and verifiable from a resume.
Shift Schedule
- Repeating every two weeks.
- Follows a 2-2-3 format.
- Team leads switch from nights to days on a 6-week cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the chemical industry is preferred but not required.
