Job summary

Shell in Indiana seeks a Production Team Leader to guide frontline operations, supervise shift personnel, and ensure safe, reliable plant performance. You will coordinate with Maintenance, HSSE, Quality, and Technical teams to meet site objectives.

This role requires 5+ years in the industry with at least 2 years in leadership, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to train and develop others while managing cross-functional activities.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the US full-time for anyone other than a current employer.
• High school graduate or equivalent; college education is an advantage.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong safety, operational discipline, and workforce leadership.
• Ability to learn and support alumina powder production operations.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication; able to train and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop hourly employees through coaching, performance management, and planning.
• Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement and address employee relations.
• Issue and manage Safe Work, Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work, and Confined Space permits.
• Ensure HSSE compliance and regulatory expectations.
• Troubleshoot process, mechanical, and instrumentation issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Lead Shift Team performance using the ESP work process.
• Drive improvements in alarm management, process safety, reliability, and asset integrity.
• Enter and manage work requests within CMMS and SAP systems.
• Ensure effective training and cross-training of production personnel.
• Coordinate daily operational activities with Maintenance and support functions.
• Participate in cost reduction, process improvement, Lean, and employee development.
• Support ISO Quality Management System compliance and vendor coordination.
• Support shutdown planning and execution; lead workforce capability development.
