Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a Production Group Leader I to develop work teams dedicated to producing high-quality products and meeting production requirements. The role focuses on people, safety, quality, delivery and cost within the assigned manufacturing area.

You will promote safety, provide resources, lead a team of direct reports, coach continuous improvement through lean practices, and coordinate cross-functional actions to ensure customer demands are met with quality products.

Qualifications

• 2 - 4-year degree in a related field and/or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote physical, emotional, and professional safety of all team members.
• Lead and manage a team of direct reports including recordkeeping, time-tracking, training/development and managing performance.
• Plan production to meet customer demands while maintaining a high level of product quality.
• Interface with other departments on the production groups’ behalf to ensure that company quality standards and customer requirements are met.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness of new products and processes.
