Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a Process Technician II to lead production support, solve root causes, and sustain safety and quality. You will optimize machines and processes to raise equipment efficiency and maintain critical records.

The role emphasizes mentoring hourly technicians, documenting procedures, and collaborating with engineering to develop new manufacturing processes and products.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, technical, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Ability to communicate difficult issues with others.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new software platforms.
• Must be available to work overtime.
• Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Intense personal commitment to continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust equipment controls and/or process controls; identify root causes and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of all downtime events with appropriate detail.
• Lead or co‑lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Track metrics and use data to propose improvements.
• Support engineering staff in developing new processes and products for manufacturing.
• Work with internal groups and vendors to troubleshoot existing equipment.
• Mentor and develop hourly Technicians.
