Job summary

Staffing Inc, West Michigan's leading manufacturing partner, seeks a Production Team Leader to guide daily operations on the shop floor and drive continuous improvement across shifts.

In this hands-on role, you’ll coach operators, manage safety and quality, perform first-piece approvals, and collaborate with Lean teams to sustain Flow Cell Certifications and efficient production flow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years manufacturing or machine operator experience.
• ≥1 year in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Ability to coach employees and hold team accountable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 1 year of sit-down forklift experience.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production by ensuring schedules are met and production goals are achieved.
• Serve as the first point of contact for scrap, downtime, and quality concerns, escalating issues as needed.
• Perform first-piece approvals, quality inspections, color checks, and process verifications.
• Coordinate cell changeovers, equipment setups, and minor machine adjustments.
• Troubleshoot basic production and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Partner with Lean teams to maintain Flow Cell Certifications and improve operational efficiency.
• Coach, mentor, and develop production operators while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Utilize production and quality systems for reporting and inventory tracking.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Operate a forklift as needed to support material movement and production.
