Sulzer in Chattanooga is seeking a Production Support Specialist to anchor on the production floor, ensuring pump assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair meet quality standards. You will generate manufacturing routings and work orders from drawings and BOMs, optimizing operations for efficiency and on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes collaboration with production planners and shop leadership, with emphasis on lean practices and adherence to safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and machine shop processes related to repair of pumps and manufacturing of pump parts is preferred.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including diplomacy and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design drawings and BOM requirements to develop routings for manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
• Generate production work order packages for pump parts and assemblies.
• Coordinate with Production Planners and Shop Supervisor to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Assist in development of inspection plans, procedures, and forms.

Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.# About the roleSUMMARY: The Production Support Specialist is the primary technical anchor on the production floor, ensuring that pump assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair processes meet stringent engineering and quality standards. Generating and maintaining manufacturing routers and production orders using engineering drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, and quality requirements. Utilizes knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes to establish the most efficient sequence of operations, supporting productivity, quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Interpret design drawings and Bill of Material (BOM) technical & quality requirements to develop routings for the manufacturing of parts and assemblies tailored to the machining capabilities of the Sulzer Nuclear Service Center.* Generates production work order packages for the manufacturing of pump replacement parts and assembly of new equipment pumps in accordance with facility capabilities, procedures, and Quality Assurance program requirements.* Generates service order packages for the disassembly & inspection, and repair of pumps sent to the SNSC for refurbishment.* Coordinates with Production Planners and Shop Supervisor to ensure that production and service orders are delivered in time to support shipment of assemblies, parts, and pumps to the customer on-time.* Assists in development of inspection plans, procedures, and forms in accordance with company standards.**SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards* Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
