Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Sr. CNC Machinist in Pasadena, TX to operate and maintain production machinery with advanced setup and quality monitoring. You will work autonomously on complex cuts, read blueprints, and support training of junior operators.

You must handle precise measurement tools, use cranes and forklifts as needed, and stay safety-focused while meeting production timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with turbo machinery and/or pumps.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to perform complex cuts and threading as required.
• Load tools and set offsets for each tool in the holder.

This role performs advanced machine setup, monitors production quality, and may assist in training junior operators. This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.The purpose of this document is to outline the job responsibilities of the CNC Machinist.Working Time:* Work hours will be determined by workload, and shift coverage needs. Typically, Day Shift will start at 5:00AM and end at 3:30PMReports To:* Production Manager* Machine Lead ManEducation and Experience:* Must have experience working with turbo machinery and/or pumps* Must have the required tools to perform their expected tasks* Must be able to work overtime when necessary* Must be able to use precision measuring instrumentsGeneral Responsibilities:* Observe Company Safety Policy and Procedures; follow and support all STS Safety Policies and ISO Procedures* Complete all documentation pertaining to the work assignment* Work closely and clearly communicate with the other departments, Machine personnel, Supervisor, and Lead Man* Operating a machine consists of: + Able to lift large, heavy equipment using the crane or spreader bar setup when required + Operate manual and automatic feeds to 0.0002\" as required for final cuts* Operate machine to make complex angle cuts and threading where multiple speeds and feeds are required* Complete assigned jobs start to finish with little or no supervision.
