Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Junior Pump Mechanic in Salt Lake City for hands-on repair and maintenance of Sulzer pumps and other manufacturers’ equipment. Under limited supervision, you will disassemble, inspect, measure and balance components, determine material needs per BOM, and perform final testing to meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have strong analytical and teamwork skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to travel to customer sites with willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Analytical and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience using hand tools, precision measuring devices and shop equipment.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pump equipment to customer, OEM and industry specifications.
• Disassemble equipment to gain access, remove, clean and inspect components.
• Inspect and record component measurements using instruments and gauges.
• Investigate and determine root cause failure of pumps.
• Balance impellers and pump casings and perform final testing.
