Job summary

Vizient is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to provide tiered incident triage, diagnostics, and operational support across core platforms. You will partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to improve incident response, RCA follow-through, and platform reliability.

The role emphasizes reducing recurring issues, enhancing runbooks, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in application production support, DevOps, SRE, or technical support roles preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, SQL/data analysis and log analysis skills required.
• Experience with enterprise applications, cloud services, integrations, or data-driven systems preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Investigate production issues involving logs, SQL patterns, failed jobs, alerts, workflows, APIs, integrations, reporting, access, configuration, and behavior.
• Analyze platform dependencies, monitoring events, and system health indicators to identify causes and resolutions.
• Identify workarounds, escalation paths, and supportable resolution options.
• Perform Tier 2 triage for production incidents.
• Create evidence-based escalation summaries and handoffs for engineering teams.
• Improve incident intake quality, classification, ownership, and stakeholder communication.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, known error articles, and diagnostic checklists.
• Support RCA documentation, problem records, and corrective action tracking.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Support teams to improve stability and processes.
• Reduce avoidable escalations through better diagnostics and documentation.
