Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned employees and ensure quality standards and policies are followed.
  • Manage schedules and production to meet customer schedules.
  • Administer personnel functions including interviewing, evaluations and disciplinary action; focus on employee development.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping; ensure equipment is operational and maintained.
  • Coordinate production with other shifts for smooth transition and liaise with other departments for issue resolution.
  • Champion BES/lean measures to improve production and quality.

Job description

Hours: Monday - Thursday w/rotating Friday
Start Time: Between 5pm-7pm followed by a 9 hour shift (TBD)

Core Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees and ensures compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
  • Understand and manage the schedules and production to meet customer schedules.
  • Administers the personnel functions for the department. This includes interviewing and selection of personnel, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action. Focus on UTL and Employee development.
  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment or knows who to contact for information.
  • Anticipates and trouble shoots problems with jobs and/or equipment and coordinates with other departments for resolution.
  • Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
  • Coordinates production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transition.
  • Ensures that all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.
  • Screen, interview, select and onboard new hires, conduct performance appraisals, coach and council employees.
  • Champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years' experience in supervisory capacity
  • Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred.
