Job summary

Air Distribution Limited is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations on the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) in Texas. You will guide a production team to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets while implementing Lean initiatives and cost controls.

The ideal candidate has a hands-on leadership style, manufacturing experience, and the ability to coach staff, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading production teams in an industrial setting.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations within an assigned department to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are achieved. This role provides direct leadership to production team members, ensuring work is completed efficiently while maintaining compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong people management skills, manufacturing experience, and a continuous improvement mindset who can drive operational performance while fostering a positive team environment.

This is a 2nd shift role 3pm-11:30pm

What You'll Do
  • Lead and supervise production team members to ensure daily manufacturing operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established production goals.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work activities to maximize productivity, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide ongoing feedback, and support hiring, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and other personnel decisions.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels within the department and reassign personnel as needed to support changing production requirements and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to address issues related to safety, quality, productivity, attendance, or employee performance.
  • Promote and sustain operational excellence initiatives, including 5S, point‑of‑use materials, quality‑at‑the‑source practices, and other lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Analyze departmental performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, communication, quality, cost control, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve operational issues and support business objectives.
  • Ensure customer requirements and production schedules are met while maintaining established quality and delivery expectations.
  • Process payroll, attendance, and personnel‑related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support emergency response procedures and ensure team members understand safety expectations and evacuation requirements.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and positive employee engagement across the manufacturing operation.
  • Support company initiatives, management objectives, and plant‑wide programs designed to improve operational and business performance.
What We Look For
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field, at least 3+ three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading production teams in a manufacturing, industrial, or assembly environment.
  • Proven ability to manage employee performance, train and develop team members, and drive accountability within a production setting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, productivity metrics, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.
  • Experience supervising large teams and coordinating multiple production processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with the ability to quickly address operational challenges and production constraints.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating procedures, production documentation, and work instructions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create reports, visual communications, and operational updates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and email systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and human resources functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe workplace, promoting teamwork, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
