Job summary

Steinway & Sons in Astoria, Queens, seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee a manufacturing team. You'll schedule and assign work, inspect department output, and coordinate interdepartmental activities to meet targets and quality standards.

The role emphasizes prioritizing workflows, providing direct leadership feedback, and ensuring a safe work environment. A strong background in manufacturing leadership is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and analyze engineering specifications and drawings.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Union environment experience a plus.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
• Set daily/weekly/monthly goals and communicate them to employees.
• Coordinate and supervise workflow within the department.
• Develop and implement a production schedule according to projected requirements.
• Provide feedback to leadership on production performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Train new employees and upgrade the skills of current staff.
• Supervise maintenance of department tools, machines, and equipment.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
