Job summary

Astec is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and supervise the manufacturing of products to quality standards and meet production plans with cost efficiency.

You will assign personnel, coordinate with maintenance, implement corrective actions, drive Lean and continuous improvement, and ensure OSHA, quality, and environmental standards are met while training and developing the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent as deemed sufficient by management.
• Minimum 3 yrs. experience as a supervisor or operator in a heavy manufacturing industry, millwright, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1+ years’ experience in Microsoft Excel and lean continuous improvement.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure, blueprints, and bills of material (BOMs).

Responsibilities

• Oversee production scheduling to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and quality.
• Plan people and resources efficiently to meet production/maintenance needs.
• Facilitate communication between management and operators and share safety targets.
• Mentor and train new employees, coach team members, and support effort.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate findings to supervision.
• Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving ideas.
• Review setups for accuracy and quality; assist in troubleshooting machines and lines.
