Job summary

Steinway & Sons is seeking a Warehouse/ Inventory Supervisor in New York to oversee materials flow for manufacturing, retailers and dealers. The role includes receiving, storing, and delivering items to the plant, processing work orders, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in inventory management.

The candidate will supervise warehouse staff, coordinate cycle counts, and work with procurement to resolve discrepancies while maintaining security and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in an industrial warehouse setting.
• Understanding of inventory control procedures and data entry.
• Familiar with receiving and part number procedures.
• Comfortable using ERP systems and MS Excel for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all incoming and outgoing materials for Steinway's New York site.
• Manage and process requisitions for production with internal approvals.
• Train and supervise warehouse clerks and lead daily meetings.
• Coordinate weekly material cycle counts and verify inventory accuracy.
• Oversee warehouse security and safety measures.
• Manage warranty and new part stock orders and global shipping tasks.
• Maintain ERP transactions for inbound/outbound materials and scrap/reject items.
• Collaborate with cost accountants on inventory discrepancies.
