Job Description
We're hiring Production Supervisors for a client in Arlington, TX.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of the leads with an emphasis on product quality, on-time delivery, cost, and factory production efficiency. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for supporting key business metrics, general housekeeping, workplace safety, and managing a team. The Supervisor will evaluate job performance and conduct team member job performance evaluations on a monthly basis in a measurable manner. This role also requires a natural ability to plan, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to established policies and procedures and utilizing the 5S pillars (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Create an environment that promotes strong interaction and effective communication among all shift team members regarding production concerns.
- Identify resource needs based on data such as time studies and capacity analysis, ensuring production schedules are met.
- Set manufacturing goals and direct Leads and associates to meet daily production needs.
- Handle materials properly to prevent damage and loss.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes required to build a quality product are current and effective.
- Address CPAR (Corrective Actions) with thorough analysis and close them within the required timeframe.
- Monitor and manage Scrap and DMRs in real-time, conducting root cause and corrective action analysis as needed.
- Perform cycle counts to maintain accurate WIP counts.
- Manage leave, overtime, attendance records, resignations, terminations, layoffs, and employee improvement plans; collaborate with HR and management to resolve employee concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conduct monthly job performance evaluations for team members using measurable criteria.
- Use tools like fishbone diagrams (Ishikawa), 5 Whys, and other problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct investigations following escalation procedures, including reasonable suspicion assessments, professionally and objectively, with management involvement as necessary.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical or business-related field.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing or production.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience leading or participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment on a production line.
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and Kanban methodologies.
- Understanding of GMPs, PPEs, and safety protocols.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Bilingual abilities in English/Chinese, English/Spanish, or English/Vietnamese are a plus.
