This role supervises employees to consistently produce quality meat products in a sanitary condition, adhering to company policies and government regulations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Supervise a team, with authority to hire and manage performance.
2. Lead and manage 21-25 employees.
3. Plan daily resource allocation (equipment, personnel, materials) to meet performance targets safely and efficiently.
4. Document and review daily production activities, reporting variances.
5. Review maintenance effectiveness and coordinate with staff to maximize equipment uptime.
6. Handle supervisory duties including scheduling, performance management, hiring, discipline, coaching, training, and terminations.
7. Utilize continuous improvement tools to address root causes of failures and support ongoing improvements.
8. Facilitate shift transitions and communicate key information effectively.
9. Apply corrective actions as needed.
10. Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards, including GMPs, sanitation, HACCP, and quality checks.
11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
12. Follow and promote safety procedures through education, training, and use of protective equipment.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

1. 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
2. Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
3. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, lean manufacturing, and food safety principles.
4. Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.
5. Ability to motivate and coach employees at all levels.
6. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

1. BA/BS or equivalent preferred, in Business Management, Production Operations, Agricultural Science, Food Science, or related experience.

Work Environment

1. Work may be in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature extremes, and movement of equipment and personnel.
2. Typical office and plant conditions.
3. No domestic travel required.
4. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for over 4 hours.
