Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in North East, PA, is hiring a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift to lead our manufacturing associates at the frozen pizza plant. You will direct production, packaging and bakery operations, hire and develop staff, and enforce USDA and quality requirements.

You will coordinate with USDA on-site, maintain HACCP documentation, and drive cost control and continuous improvement. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4+ years related work experience, with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Experience in food industry manufacturing is advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct production, packaging, and bakery on lines to meet USDA requirements.
• Interviewing and hiring qualified employees and following EEO guidelines.
• Manage performance, appraisals and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure safety, housekeeping, policy adherence, cost control, and problem-solving.
• Adjust daily schedules to meet production needs.
• Coordinate with USDA on-site for regulatory compliance.
• Review and sign off on QA and HACCP documentation.
• Monitor quality, usage, waste, counts, and weights.

What you will do:

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met
• Being responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO and Affiantive Action guidelines
• Manages employee performance and skills development conducts performance appraisals and administers disciplinary action, including employment terminations when necessary
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met
• Reviews and signs off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to assure performance and attainment

What we look for:

• Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of4 years related work experience preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision
• Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production
• Ability to effectively supervise line employees
• Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $ 58,500 to $97,500 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
