Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Marshall, MN is seeking a Production Supervisor for 1st shift (approx. 4:30am - 2:30pm) to lead our manufacturing associates at the Specialty Foods Plant, with an emphasis on bakery operations and dough manufacturing.

You will direct production, packaging and bakery lines to meet USDA requirements, hire and develop staff, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with regulatory bodies on-site. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO guidelines.
• Manages employee performance, conducts appraisals, and administers disciplinary actions as needed.
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem solving.
• Adjust daily work schedule to meet production requirements.
• Coordinate with USDA on-site to ensure compliance with company, state and federal requirements for food safety.
• Review and sign off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation.
• Check product quality, usage, waste, counts, and weights to ensure performance and attainment.

We are hiring a Production Supervisor - 1st shift (approx. 4:30am - 2:30pm), to lead our manufacturing associates at our Specialty Foods Plant in Marshall, MN. This supervisor will have an extra focus on bakery operations, including manufacturing dough.

What You Will Do

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met
• Being responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO and Aff…
• Manages employee performance and skills development conducts performance appraisals and administers disciplinary action, including employment terminations when necessary
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met
• Reviews and signs off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to assure performance and attainment

What We Look For

• Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 4 years related work experience preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision
• Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production
• Ability to effectively supervise line employees
• Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred

What We Offer

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $99,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
