Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in North East, PA is seeking a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift to lead manufacturing associates in a frozen pizza plant. You’ll oversee production lines, ensure USDA compliance, and drive safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, experience in food manufacturing, and ability to coordinate with regulatory agencies. Competitive base salary with incentives and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years related work experience in food manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years in supervision.
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to meet USDA requirements.
• Interviewing and hiring qualified employees following EEO guidelines.
• Manages employee performance, conducts appraisals, and administers disciplinary actions.
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving.
• Adjusts daily work schedule to meet production requirements.
• Works with USDA representative to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Reviews and signs off on Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation.
• Checks quality, usage, waste, counts and weights to ensure performance.

What you will do:

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met
• Being responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO and Affimative Action guidelines
• Manages employee performance and skills development conducts performance appraisals and administers disciplinary action, including employment terminations when necessary
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met
• Reviews and signs off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to assure performance and attainment

What we look for:

• Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of4 years related work experience preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production
• Ability to effectively supervise line employees
• Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $ 58,500 to $97,500 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
