Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Production Supervisor for the 1st shift (approx. 4:30am - 2:30pm) at our Specialty Foods Plant in Marshall, MN to lead manufacturing associates. You will direct production lines, ensure USDA requirements, and manage safety and quality controls.

Minimum HS diploma; 4+ years in food manufacturing with 2+ years in supervision. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for maintaining a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4+ years in related work experience in food manufacturing.
• Experience with supervision in a production environment.
• MS Office skills and basic SAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to meet USDA requirements.
• Interviewing and hiring qualified employees following EEO guidelines.
• Manages performance, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures safety, housekeeping, policy administration, and cost control.
• Adjust daily schedules to meet production needs.
• Collaborates with USDA on-site for food safety compliance.
• Reviews and signs QA and HACCP documentation.
• Checks product quality, waste, counts, and weights.

We are hiring aProduction Supervisor - 1st shift (approx. 4:30am - 2:30pm),to lead our manufacturing associates at our Specialty Foods Plant in Marshall, MN.

What you will do:

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met
• Being responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO and Affirmitive Action guidelines
• Manages employee performance and skills development conducts performance appraisals and administers disciplinary action, including employment terminations when necessary
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met
• Reviews and signs off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to assure performance and attainment

What we look for:

• Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of4 years related work experience preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision
• Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production
• Ability to effectively supervise line employees
• Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $99,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
