GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the Operations Manager. This position is responsible for the quantity & quality of work performed on the production line & in the batching process.

SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION:

  • Communicate the job expectations & monitor their progress by coaching, counseling, & enforcing systems, policies & procedures & administer disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Participate in the interview process, selection, orientation, & training of employees in the department.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the production process & add personnel & resources as needed.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling & assigning personnel to accomplish the work demands.
  • Establish priorities & monitor the progress, & revise schedules as needed to resolve problems.
  • Report results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing & enforcing organizational standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by communicating with the Maintenance Department when repairs are needed.
  • Verify that the production line is properly staffed & that line speeds achieve optimized efficiency.
  • Verify that product & packaging components are correct & meet the finished product specifications.
  • Ensure that the finished products are submitted to the lab for sensory & analytical testing & that they comply with CCP's (pH & Metal Detector tests).
  • Maintain a safe & clean work environment.
  • Prepare production reports & verify the accuracy of units produced.
  • Report the downtime, investigate, & explain the reasons, & take the necessary steps for corrective action.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, & contribution.
  • Ensure that SOP's, GMP's, & safety rules & policies are strictly followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:
  • B.A. Degree from a 4-year College or University; or 3-4 years' related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role, coaching, & production experience.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations & procedures.
  • Verbal & written English communication skills.
  • Experience with order processing systems & Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to analyze market & competition & identify external threats & opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking & able to develop & achieve organization goals.
