Job description

2nd shift: 2:15pm - 10:45 pm Monday-Friday

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision, growth, and development of all production personnel within their area of responsibility. They ensure that equipment and labor resources are utilized as scheduled in a safe and efficient manner. The supervisor acts as the main contact between production and support functions such as EO, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Test Lab, Planning, and HR. The Production Supervisor is tasked with executing the Daily Production Schedule and is a key member of the production team, accountable for achieving Anoplate's Corporate Operating Goals in Culture, Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.

In This Role You Will:

  • Identify capacity needs and develop plans to address temporary capacity gaps to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with Training to ensure workforce depth and flexibility.
  • Write employee performance reviews, assessing performance against Anoplate’s Core Values and KPIs.
  • Work with Operations and Training to develop individual growth and development plans based on business needs and personal aspirations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead hiring, firing, and promotion processes based on business needs and performance.
  • Develop and administer Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for relevant personnel.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to update on schedule slips, recoveries, or expediting, and communicate schedule impacts to Customer Service.
  • Maintain safe practices and conditions through daily observations, working with Maintenance and EHS to address issues.
  • Monitor tank performance, review parts processing, and ensure baths are within operating parameters, maintaining cleanliness and optimal operation.
  • Manage attendance, time-off requests, break times, and overall time utilization.
  • Hold team members accountable for following all processes, including Traveler, EHS, Quality, and Employee Handbook protocols.
  • Serve as the first responder during emergencies during the shift.
  • Ensure production is completed without compromising safety, environmental compliance, or product quality.
  • Increase tank uptime by ensuring processes and maintenance of tanks, connections, and exhaust systems.
  • Oversee labor reporting within the ERP system and coach employees to meet labor reporting goals.
  • Audit travelers and operators daily to ensure compliance with key processes and proper documentation.

Requirements

Your skills, knowledge & abilities:

Experience Required:

  • 2-6 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or lean environment.

Experience Desired:

  • Experience coordinating teams in a fast-paced environment, ensuring alignment with schedules and priorities.
  • Proven supervisory experience in production or manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Education:

  • High school diploma required.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to navigate the company’s ERP system (AANGS).
