General Description

The Production Supervisor role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Department(s). The Supervisor maintains a safe work environment while achieving set goals efficiently and handles situations independently while maintaining excellent communication with subordinates and Management.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations, including assigning work to employees.
  • Generate daily reports on output, compliance, or shift summaries.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, participate in hiring, and recommend candidates.
  • Coordinate with Team Leads and HR to ensure proper training and mentoring of new employees.
  • Communicate and enforce policies (e.g., attendance, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution).
  • Maintain employee time, attendance, and leave records via ADP system.
  • Enforce use of PPE and safety standards.
  • Conduct walk-throughs to ensure productivity and proper setup.
  • Maintain cleanliness through regular audits.
  • Collaborate with engineering on work cell improvements and studies.
  • Manage start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Recognize and reward exceptional employees.
  • Respond promptly to issues, including disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with production planning to balance workload.
  • Motivate employees using positive reinforcement.
  • Report safety incidents and address safety concerns.
  • Respond calmly to emergency situations.
  • Hold employees accountable to work standards.
  • Manage material movement within the department.
  • Develop strategies to improve underperforming employees.
  • Verify daily inventory using ERP systems.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to pass physical and fit testing for respiratory protection if required.
  • Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • First aid, CPR, and AED certification or ability to obtain.
  • Forklift license (propane, electric, aerial platform, turret) or ability to obtain.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and present ideas effectively.
Education And Training Requirements
  • Forklift license preferred with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or relevant experience.
