Job description

Quality Production Supervisor

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business, supporting our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers, and large retailers serving producers and animal owners across the United States. Through industry-leading R&D and strategic partnerships, we innovate nutrition products and practices to unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer our quality programs to ensure the safe production of animal feed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Support production processes by coordinating production and ingredient processing.
  • Lead safety and quality initiatives, employee engagement, coaching, and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain practices within our Quality Management System (QMS), adapting policies as regulations evolve.
  • Interact with production staff, providing coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and other regulatory initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, including root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve issues.

Experience and Education (Required):

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance within feed, food, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in feed or food manufacturing production environments.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven coaching, decision-making, change facilitation, and conflict management abilities.

Skills and Competencies (Required):

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including HACCP and GMPs.
  • Integrity in products, processes, and relationships.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, training, and coaching skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Insightful and strategic/tactical thinking.
  • Knowledge of FDA and other regulatory agencies' SOPs (preferred).
  • Skills in decision-making, safety awareness, quality orientation, technical knowledge, customer focus, time management, and computer proficiency.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced safety training and HACCP certifications.
  • Experience with MMTs may be considered.

Working Hours: 1st Shift, 6 am – 2 pm (Monday - Friday). Weekend work as required by production.

Salary Range: $69,040 - $103,560. Candidates are typically hired near the middle of this range.
