Our client, a global leader in industrial automation and manufacturing technology, is seeking motivated Production Supervisors for both 1st and 2nd shift operations.

The Production Supervisor will provide frontline leadership for a manufacturing team and will be responsible for safety, daily production, quality, productivity, employee development, and continuous improvement.

Supervisors currently lead approximately 8-25 employees, with teams expected to generally move toward approximately 10-12 employees per supervisor as additional leadership is added.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, solving operational problems, and using performance data and KPIs to improve results.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
  • Lead daily production activities within assigned work centers and ensure scheduled orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Direct and support production employees throughout the assigned shift.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, materials, productivity, and production priorities.
  • Enter and maintain production data used for productivity and quality tracking.
  • Monitor KPIs related to quality, productivity, volume, accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare and review production performance information to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead team discussions regarding production issues, quality concerns, corrective actions, and operational priorities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to production processes and workflow.
  • Coordinate with other departments and production leaders to resolve operational issues.
  • Help ensure components and materials are appropriately stocked and inventory records remain accurate.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, training, and development for production team members.
  • Administer attendance expectations and disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Apply company policies and procedures consistently across the team.
  • Facilitate employee training based on job proficiency and organizational requirements.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Build an environment emphasizing accountability, teamwork, communication, quality, and attention to detail.
Safety & Quality
  • Maintain a safe and accident-conscious production environment.
  • Ensure employees consistently follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure employees understand applicable emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Support adherence to established quality processes and documented procedures.
  • Participate in corrective actions involving quality or production concerns.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of ISO-related documentation and ensure employees follow documented processes.
  • Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, workflow, and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts throughout the production operation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Approximately 3 years of production or manufacturing supervisory experience is preferred; candidates with somewhat less or more experience will be considered based on the overall strength of their background.
  • Previous responsibility for directly supervising production, manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or distribution employees.
  • Experience working with and being accountable for operational KPIs.
  • Manufacturing, production, assembly, logistics, and/or process-flow experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and time-management skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement or process-improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Experience with inventory or material-flow processes is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Technology, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline is preferred; relevant combinations of education and practical supervisory experience will be considered.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish capability is a significant plus but is not required.
Physical & Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position requiring regular presence within the production environment.

The position may require standing and walking for extended periods; reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; and periodically lifting approximately 25-40 pounds or more.

The manufacturing environment may include exposure to noise, heat, cold, and dust.

What We're Looking For

The organization is particularly interested in motivated, detail-oriented supervisors who enjoy leading people and improving operations.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a KPI-driven environment and taking responsibility for the safety, quality, productivity, and development of their team.

Stable employment history is preferred. Candidates who have made multiple career moves will still be considered when there are reasonable explanations for those transitions and their overall manufacturing and leadership experience is compelling.
