Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining. As the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy.

The incumbent directly supervises all aspects of daily production, on an assigned shift, in one of the following production areas: Chemicals, Catalysts, Refinery, or Material Preparation. The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and directly supervises production operators on an assigned shift. The supervisor discusses daily with the Superintendent regarding production plans, schedules, issues, and shift communication.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Operate within safety, health, and environmental parameters to protect employees and prevent violations.
2. Promote a positive work environment by maintaining safety, monitoring the union contract, and enforcing company rules.
3. Utilize manpower, materials, and equipment effectively to produce quality products and maximize productivity.
4. Schedule jobs, personnel, materials, and equipment to meet production deadlines and customer specifications.
5. Work within manufacturing and payroll budgets; participate in inventories.
6. Maintain cost control through efficient use of chemicals, raw materials, and labor.
7. Supervise daily activities of union production operators, schedule maintenance, and monitor processes for cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
8. Maintain and repair equipment, report difficulties, and recommend upgrades as needed.
9. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
10. Understand PGM chemistry and exercise sound judgment, especially with new products/processes.
11. Promote a professional attitude and positive customer interactions.
12. Maintain quality assurance and process procedures for on-time delivery.
13. Assist in training new operators.
14. Perform duties of the Superintendent during absence.
15. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or similar environment
• Experience in batch or continuous chemical production (desired)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Physical ability to lift 25 lbs, bend, stand, walk, reach
• Computer literacy
• Good administrative and organizational skills
• Team building skills
