Job description

The Production Supervisor coaches, trains, supports, and develops a team of flexible, multi-skilled associates in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands' values, employee covenant, and strategic direction.

The purpose of this position is to support the Production Manager in driving continuous improvement in a small/stable production environment, from procurement to delivery. This role takes a lead in achieving targets for safety, quality, costs, customer service, and associate satisfaction and development within the production team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain high visibility with associates, using a hands-on approach to daily communication and problem solving.
  2. Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment and safe associate work habits.
  3. Develop a high-performance team with high morale, satisfaction, and performance.
  4. Create and maintain a respectful work environment by listening, fact-based decision making, managing reactions, and addressing unacceptable behavior.
  5. Support associates' success through performance management, coaching, and development communication.
  6. Review production schedules to identify and resolve issues.
  7. Ensure product quality through standard work, training, and use of tools/data.
  8. Support and implement customer-focused processes based on lean principles; provide training and coaching in standard work, 5S, and housekeeping; lead change initiatives as needed.
  9. Foster continuous improvement by encouraging associates to challenge existing processes and implement solutions.
  10. Help associates understand company policies and practices.
  11. Maintain production and time records.
  12. Identify process-related problems and support corrective actions to improve team performance.
  13. Communicate daily with associates regarding performance, initiatives, policies, safety, and quality.
  14. Coordinate with other supervisors and personnel on equipment, safety, schedules, policies, and performance plans.
  15. Understand principles of kaizen, Lean manufacturing, 5S, and TWI.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  2. 3-5 years of supervisory and leadership experience in manufacturing.
  3. Previous manufacturing experience with demonstrated application of manufacturing principles is a plus.
  4. Proven ability to motivate and work with people.
