Johnson Service Group is seeking a Production Supervisor with 2–5+ years of experience for a Temp-Direct role in the Sun Valley area. You will manage WIP and 30+ employees in a factory setting, ensuring on-time production and quality.

The role requires strong leadership, mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, with opportunities to train staff and coordinate with QA and purchasing. Occasional travel may be expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Special Skills: Good mechanical ability and attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of color code, soldering techniques and component I.D.
  • Ability to train employees on safe use of hand tools.
  • Spanish language ability is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates flow of work orders to meet stock dates and schedules.
  • Assist with daily opening/closing procedures of the factory as needed.
  • Clarify documentation for product builds.
  • Monitor production equipment and maintenance status.
  • Oversee housekeeping in power supply/transformer areas.
  • Support QA with FOD/ESD programs.
  • Participate in interviewing and training of new assemblers.
  • Flag shortages to Purchasing and Operations.
  • Traceability of work orders and layout improvements.

Job description

Johnson Service Group a nationwide staffing Service is looking for a Production Supervisor with 2-5 plus years’ experience. This is a Temp-Direct job for an Aerospace company in the Sun Valley, CA area.

SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor plays a leading role in managing work in process (WIP) product and employees. This role provides support to operations. The Production Supervisor position is full time non-exempt position. Travel is minimal, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Accessible by phone early mornings, late nights, and weekends as needed. This position supervises up to thirty (30) employees included but not limited to: Assemblers and Leads. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

PAY & HOURS
  • Pay Rate: $30.00 HR
  • Working hours: 7:30AM – 4:00PM
  • Lunch: 12:00PM – 12:30PM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitates the flow of work orders in order to meet company stock dates and schedules.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures of the factory as needed.
  • Facilitate clarification of documentation for product builds.
  • Monitors production related equipment so maintenance is up to date.
  • Responsible for overseeing assembler housekeeping in the transformer/power supply departments.
  • Assists Quality Assurance with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and ESD (Electro Static Discharge) programs in the power supply and transformer departments.
  • Assists with the interviewing and training of new power supply/transformer assemblers.
  • Alerts Purchasing and Operations of any shortages that affect active work orders.
  • Alerts Purchasing and Operations of any floor stock requirements.
  • Facilitates the traceability of work orders.
  • Assists with defining and implementing the physical layout of the power supply/transformer department.
  • Assists with translating for any power supply/transformer assemblers when needed/possible.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, changes in temperature/humidity; moving mechanical parts and vibration; frequently required to stand, walk 4-8hours/day, talk, hear, observe, type, see, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; bend or stoop, reach with hands and arms; and frequently use both feet and move them forward/backward and side to side; sit for extended periods of time; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and continuously reach and twist, including side-to-side movements; carry or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent preferred.
  • Special Skills: Good mechanical ability.
  • Advanced knowledge of color code, soldering techniques and component I.D.
  • Ability to use and train employees on proper and safe use of hand tools.
  • Attention to detail to ensure electronic components fit and function as needed.
  • Ability to provide daily guidance to up to thirty (30) employees included but not limited to: Assemblers and Leads.
  • Ability to provide feedback on team member performance, handle performance issues, and hold annual employee performance reviews.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.
  • Ability to build effective relationships, whether internally.
