Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking a Production Operations Coordinator in the Sun Valley area. The role coordinates the flow of work in manufacturing by monitoring WIP and supporting scheduling, purchasing, and cross-training across Production, Purchasing, Inventory, and Shipping.

The position is full-time non-exempt with minimal travel. Requires 2-5+ years of experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the flow of work orders to meet stock dates and schedules.
  • Assist with the creation, management, and completion of work orders.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures of the factory as needed.
  • Monitors production related equipment so maintenance is up to date.
  • Oversee assembler housekeeping in power supply and transformer departments.
  • Assist with FOD and ESD programs and other quality initiatives.
  • Assist with interviewing and training of new assemblers.
  • Alert Purchasing and Operations of shortages affecting active work orders.
  • Alert teams to floor stock requirements and traceability of work orders.
  • Assist with training for power supply/transformers and stockroom personnel.

Johnson Service Group a nationwide staffing Service is looking for a Production Operations Coordinator with 2-5 plus years' experience. This is a Temp-Direct job for an Aerospace company in the Sun Valley, CA area.

Pay Rate: $30.00 HR Working hours: 7:30AM - 4:00PM Lunch: 12:00PM - 12:30PM

Job Description Purpose and scope of role:

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the flow of work throughout the manufacturing by monitoring work in process (WIP), removing production constraints, supporting scheduling and purchasing, and ensuring timely completion of customer orders. This position provides operational support across Production, Purchasing, Inventory, and Shipping, while serving as a cross-trained resource for critical business functions. The Operations Coordinator position is full time non-exempt position. Travel is minimal, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Accessible by phone early mornings, late nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities and Authority:
  • Facilitates the flow of work orders in order to meet company stock dates and schedules.
  • Assist with the creation, management, and completion of work orders/job packets.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures of the factory as needed.
  • Monitors production related equipment so maintenance is up to date.
  • Responsible for overseeing assembler housekeeping in the transformer/power supply departments.
  • Assists with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and ESD (Electro Static Discharge) programs, and other Quality initiatives in the power supply and transformer departments.
  • Assists with the interviewing and training of new power supply/transformer assemblers.
  • Alerts Purchasing and Operations of any shortages that affect active work orders.
  • Alerts Purchasing, production, and Operations of any floor stock requirements.
  • Facilitates the traceability of work orders.
  • Assists with training for any power supply assemblers, transformer assemblers, and stockroom personnel when needed.
  • Responsible for grounds maintenance as needed by the Director of Operations.
  • Assists with shipping and product documentation requirements.
  • Assist with cycle count and kitting as required by the director of Operations.

Organizational Relationship:

Operations Coordinator reports to Director of Operations. Operations Coordinator helps manage the Leads (Lead Power Supply Assembler, Lead Transformers Assembler, and Lead Final Process Assembler).

Education and Training:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, changes in temperature/humidity; moving mechanical parts and vibration; frequently required to stand, walk 4-8hours/day, talk, hear, observe, type, see, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; bend or stoop, reach with hands and arms; and frequently use both feet and move them forward/backward and side to side; sit for extended periods of time; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and continuously reach and twist, including side-to-side movements; carry or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.

Special Skills:

Good mechanical ability. Advanced knowledge of color code, soldering techniques and component I.D. Ability to use and train employees on proper and safe use of hand tools. Attention to detail to ensure electronic components fit and function as needed. Ability to provide daily guidance to up to thirty (30) employees included but not limited to: Assemblers and Leads. Ability to provide feedback on team member performance, handle performance issues, and hold annual employee performance reviews. Ability to speak Spanish. Ability to build effective relationships, whether internally. Effective presentation skills. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Strong IT skills: ability to use the computer and business-related applications. Ability to work under pressure and still produce result. Ability to be flexible. Demonstrated business acumen. Managerial Experience:
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Previous employee supervision experience preferred; OR Any combination of training, education, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully and meet business objectives.
