Job summary

Jobot in Stamford, CT seeks a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in a plastics extrusion environment. You will ensure production schedules are met, identify and solve equipment or personnel issues, and drive process improvements while maintaining safety and quality.

The role offers a 12-hour rotating shift, overtime pay, competitive pay ($65,000-$95,000 annually), great benefits, 401k, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (7) years in a manufacturing leadership position
• Plastics extrusion experience strongly desired
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer tools

Responsibilities

• Ensure all phases of manufacturing run safely and efficiently
• Identify and resolve equipment or personnel issues
• Drive formula improvements and equipment/engineering revisions
• Provide training as needed
• Maintain communication with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance and Warehouse teams
• Coordinate process condition setup sheets and update the process conditions database
• Prepare shop floor paperwork for process order production
• Oversee training for new hires and experienced staff
• Enforce company policies and maintain production quality
• Plan staffing to optimize production and minimize downtime
• Manage product loss and scrap to a minimum
• Conduct performance appraisals and give timely feedback
• Maintain inventory levels and coordinate restocking with purchasing
• Record and correct timekeeping entries in E-Time
• Address attendance issues per policy
• Coordinate shift turnover with other Supervisors
• Maintain clean, tour-ready production areas

Job Details

• Safely ensures all phases of manufacturing are being performed efficiently and effectively.


• Identifies and solves any issues or problems with equipment or personnel.


• Recommends and drives formula improvements, equipment and engineering revisions.


• Provides training as needed.


• Maintains open lines of communication with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance and Warehouse support groups to ensure production schedules are met.


• Coordinates publishing of process condition set up sheets, updating these conditions and maintaining the process conditions database.


• Produces all shop floor paperwork as required for process order production.


• Coordinates and administers all aspects of training for new hires as well as long term associates.


• Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.


• Ensures consistent and maximum production while maintaining acceptable quality control.


• Ensures efficient use of staffing by effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging the required coverage when necessary.


• Ensures that product loss and scrap production are kept to a minimum.


• Administers performance appraisals of production associates. Establishes, communicates and provides timely feedback to assigned workforce on objectives, goals and expectations.


• Ensures production supply inventories are maintained and notifies the appropriate purchasing associates when items need to be restocked.


• Reviews and corrects information in E-Time for timekeeping of production associate's hours.


• Ensures that attendance issues are reported and handled in accordance with the attendance policy.


• Coordinates with other Supervisors to provide seamless shift turnover and appropriate staffing.


• Ensures plant production area housekeeping is maintained in "Tour Ready" conditions at all times in accordance with housekeeping guidelines.

Requirements

• Plastics Extrusion experience STRONGLY desired.


• Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a manufacturing leadership position managing direct reports, as well as a broad knowledge of safety procedures and manufacturing operations.


• Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS Office
