Job summary

Jobot is seeking a manufacturing leader in Graham, NC to oversee day-to-day operations across multiple shifts and to drive SQDCP metrics. You will develop production plans, improve productivity, manage expenses, and foster a safety- and quality-focused culture.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7+ years of leadership experience, a strong background in Lean/ TPM/5S, and proven ability to mentor teams and manage budgets. This on-site role supports career growth and a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business or related field.
  • Experience leading a sizable hourly manufacturing workforce across multiple shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, standard work and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, root-cause analysis, Fishbone, 5 Why).
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety standards and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial and operational metrics, budgets and cost drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple shifts and ensure production goals are met.
  • Own key operational metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).
  • Develop and execute production plans aligned with customer requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Manage operating expenses and support cost-reduction and value-improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards and procedures.
  • Drive a right-first-time quality culture and minimize scrap, defects, and customer complaints.
  • Lead and develop a team of ~50 employees including Group Leaders and Team Leaders.
  • Establish performance expectations and foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor leaders and employees; develop training plans on 5S, standard work, visual management.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Performance
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple shifts and ensure production goals are consistently achieved.
  • Own key operational metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).
  • Develop and execute production plans aligned with customer requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Manage operating expenses and support cost-reduction and value-improvement initiatives.
Safety & Quality
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable HSE standards and procedures.
  • Promote safe work practices, standard work, audits, and continuous safety improvement.
  • Drive a right-first-time quality culture and minimize scrap, defects, and customer complaints.
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving efforts, including 8D, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of process and product changes on the shop floor.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 50 employees across multiple shifts, including Group Leaders and Team Leaders.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor front-line leaders and employees to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Develop training and development plans focused on manufacturing processes, 5S, standard work, visual management, waste reduction, and problem-solving.
  • Support hiring, performance management, employee development, and career progression.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, improve workflow, increase efficiency, and optimize resources.
  • Partner with engineering and other support functions to implement new technologies, processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and coordination across production and support teams.
Cross-Functional & Customer Support
  • Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, HR, and HSE to resolve operational challenges.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address customer requirements and manufacturing issues.
  • Support audits, supplier relationships, compliance initiatives, and resolution of operational issues.
Qualifications
  • 5–7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience leading a sizable hourly manufacturing workforce across multiple shifts.
  • Proven experience with employee development, performance management, hiring, and workforce planning.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, root-cause analysis, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Ability to understand financial and operational metrics, budgets, and cost drivers.
