Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that tasks within their area are completed on schedule. They must also verify that work results are checked and released according to PSI HSE and quality management system standards.

Essential Functions
  1. Ensure compliance with all PSI safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  2. Interview potential team candidates.
  3. Discipline underperformers and reinforce positive performance.
  4. Coordinate activities with other teams and subcontractors.
  5. Maintain a safe, clean, and trouble-free production environment.
  6. Lead, instruct, and control their team to meet efficiency and quality goals.
  7. Motivate and train employees.
  8. Implement industry best practices to optimize time and costs.
  9. Ensure quality standards, control costs, and adhere to schedules.
  10. Provide daily feedback on work progress, production hours, and quality.
  11. Ensure machinery and equipment readiness.
  12. Collaborate with the preparation team on work packages and materials.
  13. Perform internal inspections and present results during official inspections.
  14. Conduct daily safety instructions and checks related to HSE and cleanliness.
  15. Work according to quality standards and building methodologies.
  16. Track staffing, report progress, and control budgets, updating production data regularly.
  17. Plan and organize transport and material storage.
  18. Define and plan manpower needs.
  19. Perform other related duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervise production workers within their team.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture is preferred, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Candidates should have 5-15 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, heavy steel structures manufacturing, or pressure vessel production. Proven welding/shipbuilding technical knowledge and experience instructing production teams are required. Familiarity with modern production machines, automated lines, and building methods is also necessary.

Work Environment

Exposure to industrial conditions such as noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, and smoke. Work may be indoors or outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.

Physical Demands

Must be capable of lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, and extended walking or standing. Employment contingent upon passing a medical exam. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, safety-sensitive position. Hours vary by department and schedule.
