Job summary

Adecco US, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily production activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a safe, clean workspace. The role requires supervising a team, coordinating shift schedules, and driving continuous improvement on the production floor.

Responsibilities include managing materials, conducting interviews, and coordinating with HR. The position emphasizes teamwork, meeting manufacturing and delivery goals, and maintaining proper documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all production employees to meet manufacturing, quality and delivery requirements.

• Identify bottlenecks and downtime, propose and implement improvement actions.
• Use root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Provide operator training and write job instructions.
• Staff production schedule including shift assignments and vacations.
• Coordinate with HR for staffing levels and conduct interviews/reviews.
• Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

A Production Supervisor, or Manufacturing Supervisor ensures the smooth running of processes on a production floor. Their duties include overseeing routine production activities, troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean production workspace.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the direct supervision of all production employees and meeting all manufacturing, quality, and delivery requirements.

• Managing the material requirement for the production floor (raw materials, MRO, supplies, etc.)

• Identification of inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and downtime issues, ultimately leading to improvement proposals and implementation of solutions

• Utilize root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

• Provide manufacturing process support services to existing plant activities as well as new projects and development activities.

• Provide operator training and develop written job instructions.

• Responsible for staffing the production schedule to include: workstation assignments, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, changeovers, etc.

• Coordinate with HR for appropriate staffing levels.

• Conduct employee interviews and performance reviews, along with scheduling and conducting shift meetings.

• Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager.

• Promote teamwork and build a culture of continuous improvement.

• Complete shift paperwork and assist in production as necessary.

• Ensure a clean and safe work area and other duties as needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic reading and writing in English, and basic arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Trained in root cause analysis and technical trouble shooting.

• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience.

• Must be a self-starter, willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees.

• Previous experience of leading a department of at least 10+ employees.

• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

• Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and work orders.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

• Able to read a tape measure.

• Able to work overtime as needed.

• Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.

• Able to report every workday, on time and for the entire shift.

• Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. The warehouse area is not climate controlled so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Shift is currently Mon-Thurs, 5am to 3pm

Pay Details

$30.00 to $31.00 per hour
