Job summary

Logoplaste is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily production floor operations on-site in Illinois. This hands-on leadership role requires directing multi-skilled teams to deliver on-time, quality products while enforcing safety and GMP practices.

SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will be directly responsible for production floor operations, products, equipment and personnel. The production managerial role is a “hands on” position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily production operations
• Ensure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
• Enforce quality control and set quality standards
• Ensure on time production and delivery
• Inventory control
• Working with senior management to implement company policy and goals
• Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed
• Supervising a team of multi skilled personnel
• Identify and address training needs and refresher training
• Providing on call technical support for process and basic mechanical issues if required
• Work closely with operations, purchasing, engineering, and quality to achieve manufacturing results
• Oversee planned maintenance operations
• Manage human and material resources to achieve results
• Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
• Workout and implement standard operating procedures for operations and ensure that they are adhered to
• Manage production costs
• Determine improvements to the production process
• Analyse production and quality to detect and correct problems
• Review employee performance
• Manage labor hours for production employees
• Make decisions for temp labor
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP practices and Global Food Safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned by manager

COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years related management experience in manufacturing environment; partnered with strong leadership skills
• Industry experience preferred
• Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization
• SAP experience
• Logistics background preferred
• Able to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends based on business demand
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems and standards
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel
