Job summary

Fabcon Precast in Grandville, MI is seeking a foreman to lead daily production tasks, coordinate with plant supervisors, and drive 6S and continuous improvement in assigned areas.

You will oversee documentation, safety compliance, equipment inspections, and training of personnel while meeting Fabcon goals and production schedules in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Analytical skills and ability to deal effectively with conflict.

Responsibilities

  • Know all aspects of each individual crew job and the mechanical equipment under your assigned responsibilities.
  • Responsible for planning and implementation of efficient daily production tasks.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation required daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Coordinate responsibilities with plant supervisors and other foremen.
  • Delegate and train duties to appropriate personnel.
  • Report any disciplinary actions and absence/tardiness to plant supervisor.
  • Knowledge and implementation of OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and associated maintenance work orders for all equipment in your assigned area.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and 6S of your assigned areas as measured by weekly 6S scores and labor efficiencies.
  • Working knowledge of production drawings, castbooks and production layout as it pertains to your production responsibilities.
  • Responsible for achieving high key indicator standards for your area in respect to Fabcon goals.
  • Other duties as requested.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of casting experience
  • Ability to read blueprints

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend long durations standing/walking in a manufacturing environment with steep ladders and catwalks.
  • Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection
  • Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
  • Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
  • Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
