Job summary

CST Industries, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to direct and coordinate activities related to the production of company products. The role focuses on meeting production goals, maintaining quality, and ensuring an efficient operation.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or equivalent, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to read blueprints and job orders. This on-site position requires initiative in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe and accident-free workplace.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards and cost controls.
  • Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control.
  • Reviews production and quality control reports to identify nonconformities.
  • Develops and implements methods to eliminate operating problems and improve quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities due to equipment issues.
  • Consults with engineering to modify machines and equipment for better production and quality.

Education

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and or training.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to always maintain an upbeat and positive attitude.
Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced professional environment.
Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
Ability to read and interpret CST and customer prints and documents.
Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.

Job description

Position Summary

Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company products.

Essential Duties And Other Responsibilities
  • Promotes a safe and accident-free workplace.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards and cost controls.
  • Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.

Computer Skills
  • Advanced level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Physical Demands
  • Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility.
  • Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment.
  • Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing. Standing on concrete floors and uneven terrain will be required frequently.
  • Climb and balance, must climb stairs and ladders.
  • Stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.
  • Talk/hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information.
  • Lift and carry weights of 50lbs.
