Job summary

Brady Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Engraving Solutions business, including Brady and Gravotech brands. You will lead shop-floor operations, drive Lean initiatives, and manage scheduling and metrics to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing.

You will supervise machine operators, analyze capacity, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet delivery targets while maintaining compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5 years of equivalent supervisory experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment (relevant intern or co-op experience accepted)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Experience leading change management initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, 8-Step Problem Solving, and the Toyota Production System (TPS), desired
• Proficiency with SAP ERP software, desired

Job description

Brady Corporation is looking for a Production Supervisor for our Engraving Solutions business, which includes our Brady and Gravotech brands.This position directs daily operations on the shop floor across a group of Value Streams or Operations Function to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing. Spends the majority of work hours on the shop floor actively managing Lean and Scheduling boards, tracking operational metrics, and driving team performance. Leads continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize machine performance, workflows, and cross-departmental operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities with regard to expediting flow of material and parts within department and schedules production operations
• Supervise, train, and mentor Machine Operators on daily responsibilities, standard operating procedures, and proper hazardous waste handling.
• Analyzes production specifications and Value Stream capacity data, and oversees mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tooling, and staffing requirements
• Maintain strict quality control standards, eliminate non-value-added activities, and ensure compliance with internal policies and specifications.
• Standardize production planning procedures and operational workflows to increase team efficiency.
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Identify schedule bottlenecks in real time and adjust operational plans to resolve unexpected delays.
• Plan and sequence daily fabrication steps based on established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Drive operational excellence in SQDCC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash) and hold teams accountable for achieving performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Value Stream team members to align production deliverables with internal and external customer expectations.
• Allocate resources and support the execution of new product introductions and customer development processes

What You Will Need To Be Successful:
