Job summary

Brady Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development and improve manufacturing efficiency. You will guide technicians, deploy new processes, and ensure smooth production flow.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, 3–5 years’ experience, lean manufacturing, CAD familiarity, ISO-9001 knowledge, and strong communication skills. Printing or converting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 1 year minimum manufacturing experience (2–3 years preferred).
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications.
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 quality management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Printing and/or converting industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools (GR&R, SPC, DOE, Ppk).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Influence associates to promote participation in process development and improvement.
  • Ensure conformance with policies and procedures.
  • Specify, deploy and validate new manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Create engineered-to-order parts and coordinate with customer service.
  • Maintain smooth production flow and product qualification processes.
  • Conduct product and process FMEA analyses.
  • Create and implement procedures for assembling, testing and packaging.
  • Re-engineer operations and processes as needed.
  • Specify, install and debu g tooling and new capital equipment.
  • Implement automated inspection, manufacturing and data acquisition systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop training systems and support documentation for associates.
  • Collaborate with new product development for manufacturing strategies.

What We Need

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing processes and their improvement, resolution of complex manufacturing process issues, and providing leadership and guidance to technicians and/or hourly associates that may not report directly to the incumbent.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Influences key associates to promote participation and cooperation in process development/improvement initiatives.

  • Creates new engineered to order parts and coordinates with customer service.
  • Responsible for smooth product production/constant production flow.
  • Responsible for product qualification processes.
  • Conducts product and process FMEA analysis.
  • Create, document and implement procedures for assembling, testing and packaging processes.
  • Re-engineers operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Specifies, installs and debugs tooling and new capital equipment.
  • Specifies, evaluates and implements automated systems for inspection, manufacturing and data acquisition.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities.
  • Develops training systems and support documentation for associates.
  • Collaborates with new product development engineers manufacturing strategies for new parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment experience (Intermediate: Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment)
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and equivalent Google applications
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, specifically ISO-9001.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Printing and/or converting industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools; GR&Rs, SPC, DOE’s, Ppk’s
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Training Certification and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Mechanical Inspector certification is preferred, but not required.
