Job summary

Brady Corporation is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for its Engraving Solutions brand portfolio, including Brady and Gravotech. This role handles day-to-day operation of engraving and related machinery to produce engravable plastic and metal items, requiring electro-mechanical aptitude and adherence to procedures to meet quality standards.

You will perform equipment setup and maintenance, verify material specifications, and work toward efficient production with minimal waste.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude or training preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Basic math and measurement skills with ability to interpret orders and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain engraving, shears, bevelers, badge machines, and panel saw.
  • Pick materials required to complete a job.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards while achieving production goals and minimizing waste.
  • Identify pre-production problems such as material thickness or defects.
  • Mark, segregate, and cut defective material to prevent returns.
  • Follow operating instructions and safety guidelines for all duties.
  • Identify and report manufacturing process problems.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Responsible for day to day operation and maintenance of shears, bevelers, engraving and badge machines, and panel saw
  • Pick all required materials to complete a job
  • Ensure product meets quality standards while also meeting production goals and minimizing waste
  • Recognize pre-production problems such as material thickness, material defects, correct material type, etc.
  • Eliminate return good authorizations by accurately marking, segregating and cutting defective material
  • Follow machine operating instructions and safety guidelines while performing duties
  • Identify problems in the manufacturing process and reporting them
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude or training preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience preferred
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 pounds
  • Basic math and measurement skills, with the ability to interpret orders and procedural documents
  • Ability to analyze and interpret procedural documents, order requirements and instructions
  • Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when necessary
